Judge.me Email: Generating email copy with AI

Describe your brand's tone of voice once, then use AI to write copy for your flow emails, campaigns and saved templates.

Judge.me Email can write your email copy for you, once it knows how your brand sounds. Save a short description of your voice under Branding, and use it in flow emails, campaigns and saved templates.

How it works

Your tone of voice is a short description you write once, under Branding. It applies store-wide, not to just one flow.

Once you've saved a tone of voice, you can generate copy in two places. On the Branding page, a "Rewrite flow emails" card can rewrite every email in a flow at once. In the email editor, for a flow email, a campaign or a saved template, you can generate the whole email, or just one field like the subject line.

Nothing is saved automatically. On the Branding page, you review a preview before applying it. In the editor, generated copy lands as a draft, and your own Save is what keeps it.

Considerations

  • Writing a tone of voice is free on every plan. Generating copy from it has a limit that depends on your plan:

    • The Free plan gives you 50 generations in total.

    • The Awesome plan gives you 50 a day.

  • You can see how many generations you have left on the Rewrite flow emails card — but only on the Free plan. On Awesome, there's no visible count or balance; you'll only know you've hit the daily limit when generating returns a 'try again tomorrow' message.

  • Rewriting a single field in the editor, rather than a whole email, needs the Awesome plan.

  • Existing emails don't change on their own. Generating and then applying new copy is the only way your content changes.

  • Generating copy in a campaign or a saved template uses the same generations as flow emails. On the Free plan, it comes out of the same 50.

  • Generate copy rewrites the text an email already has. It can't write an email from a blank page.

  • A saved template has no subject line or preview text, so in a saved template you can only generate the text blocks.

  • You can only generate copy in a campaign you can still edit. A campaign that's sending, paused or sent can't be edited.

  • A new template needs to be saved once before Generate copy appears.

  • The Rewrite flow emails card on the Branding page still only rewrites flow emails.

Setup

Available on the Free plan.

Start by telling Judge.me Email about your brand's voice.

  1. From your Judge.me Email admin, go to Templates > Manage brand and styling > Tone of voice.

  2. Describe your store and how you want your emails to sound. Worth including: what you sell and who buys it, how formal or casual you want to sound, and words to use or avoid.

  3. Or, click Generate to have AI draft a starting point from your store and products, then edit it before saving.

  4. Click Save.

Customization

Once you have a tone of voice saved, you can use it to generate copy in either of these places.

Rewrite your flow emails

Available on the Free plan.

Use this to update every email in a flow at once, without opening each one individually.

  1. From Templates > Manage brand and styling > Tone of voice, find the Rewrite flow emails card.

  2. Tick the flows you want to rewrite.

  3. Click Generate preview.

  4. Review the preview, then click Apply to flows to save it, or Discard to cancel.

Generate copy in the email editor

Rewriting a single field is available on the Awesome plan.

Use this for one email at a time, or to rewrite just a single field.

  1. Open the email in the editor:

    • For a flow email, from your Judge.me Email app, go to Flows, click the flow, and click the email.

    • For a campaign, from your Judge.me Email app, go to Campaigns, click a campaign you can still edit, and click Edit email content.

    • For a saved template, from your Judge.me Email app, go to Templates, click Your templates, and click the template.

  2. Click Generate to rewrite the whole email.

  3. Or, click into a field that already has text (like the subject line) or a text block, and the sparkles icon ✨ that appears on that field.

  4. Review what comes back. To put the previous copy back, click the Undo icon in the toolbar.

  5. Click Save.

Troubleshoot

I don't see Generate copy in my template

Save the template once first. Generate copy only appears on a template that has been saved. It also doesn't appear on suggested templates from the library until you save your own copy.

I don't see Generate copy in my campaign

A campaign that's sending, paused or sent can't be edited. Duplicate it to get an editable draft.

My generations went down when I edited a campaign

On the Free plan, every whole-email rewrite uses 1 of your 50 generations. This is true wherever you generate it: Branding, a flow email, a campaign or a saved template.
